Mayfield Heads to Atlanta in Hopes of Repeating
Billy Ballew Motorsports' Victory from 2005 Mooresville, NC | 10-26-2006
Mayfield Heads to Atlanta in Hopes of Repeating Billy Ballew Motorsports' Victory from 2005This weekend’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway will mark the second time Jeremy Mayfield will pilot the No. 15 Chevrolet for Billy Ballew Motorsports. It also marks the second time Mayfield will drive
at a track where the Billy Ballew Motorsports team has previously won, with the first time being at Las Vegas Motor Speedway last month. The No. 15 team won 2005’s Fall event at AMS in dramatic fashion with Kyle Busch behind the wheel. This year, they return in hopes of repeating with veteran Mayfield piloting the Quest Global/Red Top Auto
Auction Chevrolet.
“I’m excited to be back in Billy’s truck, especially in front of his home crowd,” said Mayfield. “I enjoyed working with Billy, Richie (Wauters, crew chief) and all the guys in Las Vegas. I’m especially looking forward to working with such a competitive team. Hopefully, we’ll have a good run in Atlanta.
They deserve one, especially returning as the defending winners of this event.”
Team owner Billy Ballew, a native of Blairsville, Ga., once again has brought on a contingent of local sponsors to help support the No. 15 this weekend. Those include Quest Global, Inc., a trucking company based in Canton, Ga., and Red Top Auto Auction in Cartersville. Also jumping on board are Synergy, Woodstock
Furniture Outlet, Crowne Plaza Airport Hotel, and Smokey Mountain Chevrolet in Franklin, Tenn.
“This is exciting to return to Atlanta Motor Speedway,” said Ballew. “There are many reasons I love going there. It’s obviously my home track so it’s close for friends to come watch the race. We’re the defending winners, and I have the support of a lot of local businesses that want to see the No. 15 be
competitive and run up front. I’m looking forward to returning to AMS and having Jeremy Mayfield drive this weekend. I know he’ll do a great job for us and the many sponsors we have on board.”
Quest Global, Inc. is a national trucking company owned by brothers Jason and Jeremy Dickerson. Quest Global, Inc. specializes in team service for expedited loads to the West coast from the Southeast. Quest Global believes that they are large enough to handle anyone’s transportation needs, yet small enough to provide
the personalized service you deserve. Several of Quest’s drivers will be present for the John Deere 200 to watch the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race.
“Quest Global is really looking forward to sponsoring Billy Ballew Motorsports and Jeremy Mayfield for this Saturday’s race at Atlanta Motor Speedway,” said Jason Dickerson, Vice President of Quest. “Hopefully, we’ll have a great race and another spectacular finish like last year. NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
is the most exciting racing there is, and we look forward to being a part of it this weekend with the No. 15 Billy Ballew Motorsports team.”
The John Deere 200 gets underway at 5:15 p.m. EST from the Atlanta Motor Speedway. The race will be broadcast live on SPEED Channel beginning at 4:30 p.m. EST and on MRN Radio.
